History
A few of our customers remember the Fishers from our days at the Harbor Mart in Channel Islands Harbor. Following fifteen-years serving the Hollywood Beach community, Nick became the "wine guy" at Vons supermarket in Ventura. While at Vons, Nick made some new 'friends of wine', and dreampt up the little wine shop that has become the Ventura Wine Co. of today.

In 2001, we started as a little hole-in-the-wall wine shop, promising our customers simply: fine wines at discount prices. Eight years later, we have expanded our retail shop significantly, added a Cave and kitchen, and hired new people to help serve our customers. What remains the same is our commitment to offering the best wines at the lowest prices, our personal service and relaxed atmosphere.

The Ventura and Carpinteria Wine Co. continue to be successful, even without big advertising budgets, sales or gimmicks. Our philosophy is simple: offer our customers the best wines at the best prices, and make wine something that everyone can enjoy responsibly. Since day one we have asked our customers to "tell a friend", and the number of customers visiting our shop and signing up for our regular email list continues to grow.

From the very first day that Harbor Mart opened its doors so many years ago, we have been successful due to the hard work and dedication of our whole family. The Ventura and Carpinteria Wine Companies remain a family business. Nick and Jennie Fisher started the business while raising their family. Today, Nicole Valdivia manages the wine shops, mentored by her father, Nick. Jennie and Eric Fisher remain acitve partners in the success of the family business.
